Service Description

Play & Connect Camp is a small-group, therapeutic summer program designed to help children build the social and emotional skills needed to feel confident interacting with others. Led by a pediatric occupational therapist and a special education teacher, this camp provides structured, play-based experiences in a supportive environment where every child is known and supported. Many children want to connect with peers but may struggle with joining play, taking turns, managing big feelings, or navigating social situations. This camp gently supports those skills through guided activities, cooperative games, sensory-motor play, and real-life social practice. 🌿 What Children Will Practice Children will have opportunities to build skills such as: - Making and maintaining friendships - Taking turns and cooperating during play - Flexible thinking and problem solving - Understanding social cues and perspectives - Managing frustration and big emotions - Participating confidently in group activities Skills are taught naturally through play, movement, and shared experiences rather than structured “sit-down” instruction. Play & Connect Camp may be a good fit for children who: - Want to make friends but feel unsure how to join or stay engaged in play - Have difficulty taking turns, sharing, or cooperating with peers - Feel shy, anxious, or hesitant in social situations - Become frustrated when play doesn’t go as expected - Benefit from guided support practicing social interaction in a small group - Are building confidence participating with other children
