Service Description

Get Ready for School Camp is a small-group, therapeutic summer program designed to help children build the confidence and skills needed for a successful transition back to school. Led by a pediatric occupational therapist and a special education teacher, this camp provides structured, play-based experiences that help children practice classroom routines, regulation strategies, and participation skills in a supportive and encouraging environment. As the school year approaches, many children benefit from extra support adjusting to routines, managing expectations, and feeling comfortable in group learning environments. This camp gently prepares children through guided activities, cooperative play, movement breaks, and practice with real-life school skills in a low-pressure setting. 🌿 What Children Will Practice Children will have opportunities to build skills such as: - Following group routines and directions - Transitioning between activities - Participating in structured group tasks - Managing emotions in classroom-like situations - Attention and listening skills - Building confidence for the start of the school year Skills are practiced through play, movement, and shared experiences designed to feel supportive and successful rather than academic or demanding.
